By the time I get to meet a bereaved family it will have already been made painfully aware of the cost of a funeral and may even be aware of how much a solictor intends to charge to administer an estate. The best advice I can offer is to call The Probate Bureau before even contacting a funeral director or a solicitor holding the Will. We have been able to save families in excess of £700 on a simple funeral to over £2,500 on a more complex one. The Probate Bureau can save you thousands of pounds in administration fees as well as forwarding discounted estate agency rates, accountancy fees and other legal and financial ones. Remember, you are not obliged to use a solicitor just because they hold your Will.

Probably the greatest savings are tax related - having a 'one stop shop' for legal and financial services means your family actually saves money. Money that is often voluntarily paid out to the taxman when people handle probate themselves or when they pass the case to an inexperienced practitioner.
